I'd like your thoughts on how the board is set up, and any ideas for other categories.

PostSubject: Thanks for getting started   Sun Oct 08, 2006 7:57 pm

Thanks so much for starting this, Dawn. I do like it. Do you think this will be popular with people? Will they remember it's here if they don't get an email in their inbox? Just wondering. I have used a tool very similar to this for work purposes. I do like them.

Hi Karen! Well, I don't know how it will go. This format allows for more categories, and I find it easier to browse through than the email lists.

There is a feature (just below the preview) when you create a post that allows you to get an email when a reply is posted on a certain thread.

Hi Karen! Nice to meet you, too.

Setting this up was the easy part, now we just need to see if there's interest and need.

Wow, it looks great Dawn, thanks for setting it up. I already bookmarked the site! I am Sandy Enders in East Haven and I have little Adam flower who is 2yrs5mths. He is from Guatemala and he arrived home at 7mths in January05. Adam had minor ear problems with fluid and has had two sets of tubes be placed so he is a bit delayed in speech, but aside from that he is fine. He has over excelled in motor skills and social skills and his cognitive skills are good, so we are working on the speech with Birth to Three in CT (Hill Heath Center in New Haven). I hope to be a regular on the board. I work at home online so I have easy access to the Internet. I am 48 and Hubby (Mike) is 58. I also have two grown step-kids (Rebecca & Robert) who are in their late to mid twenties and reside in Indiana.

PostSubject: Hello and Typo   Thu Nov 02, 2006 10:48 am

Hi All,

I am Laurie from Danbury, mother to our son, Reilly. Reilly, who is 16 months, came home to us from Korea on December 6, 2005.

Hope you had a wonderful Halloween with all of your kids. Reilly's first was a little boring, but he enjoyed walking around and playing in the leaves (he doesn't eat candy yet) in his Lion Costume.

This is a great forum! Dawn, if you're out there, thanks so much for providing us all with a connection to other Moms and Dads.

PS: I found a typo on the homepage. Introductions is spelled wrong.

Hi everyone,

My husband and I have one son, Brendan, almost 4, adopted from Ufa, Russia at 14 months old. We live in Ellington, CT. We are in the process of adopting an 18 month old girl from the same area. We actually leave this coming Sunday for our first trip over there. We will have to go back sometime in Jan. or Feb. to bring Anna home. I'd love to hear from anyone who has adopted from Russia, especially from the Ufa region.

Also, a note to Cathy from Tolland. A friend of mine in Ellington is currently waiting for a referral of a child from Ethiopia. It has been an extremely long wait for her and I know she is getting anxious, but she enjoys talking to people about it. I think it really helps to talk to people who really have gone through the same things you have. It would be great to hear about your experience if you have a chance.

Thanks, Cathryn
